My husband and I stayed in the Dickinson room and were completely impressed. The room was spacious, clean, and bright. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub and warm fireplace. The room was quiet, which is great since there was a couple in the room next to us. The bed was perfectly soft and comfortable. We requested wine glasses and a bottle opener, and both were brought to our room with warm, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.Fresh coffee and earl gray tea was waiting for us when we woke up. We asked for apple juice at the last minute and it was no issue for it to be brought up with our delicious breakfast. If you are looking for a cozy, comfortable place to stay in Sacramento, this is the place for you. We have zero complaints.

Beautiful little spot in midtown! Walking distance from a lot of great eateries (I.e. Kru, Red Rabbit). It is a quiet place where you can get a lot of privacy. I stayed in the Chaucer room which was very clean and classically decorated. The bathtub is big enough for two people.Upon check in you get to select your choice of breakfast and where you would like to dine. I chose to stay in my room and it was glorious!! THE MOST comfortable bed and bathrobes EVER!!!It is in midtown so expect to hear some of the commotion from the street. But overall VERY lovely. Kind of pricey but you do get what you pay for. I will be back!!

Very good place, we've stayed there three times now in the Byron, Chaucer, and Dickinson. Like any old house, there are quirks in terms of heating and cooling because they don't have modern central HVAC. Byron room has a very soft bed, FYI.They offer breakfast in their dining room or in your bedroom. The breakfasts almost always offer a protein, which I appreciate because this is not as common as you would expect. Morning coffee, 2 course breakfast, evening cookies, drinks. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We've never had a bad interaction with the staff here. The location is within walking distance of good Midtown restaurants. There are options we've never taken advantage of, like evening drinks. But with Midtown entertainment so close, we don't feel like we are missing out. I look forward to going again.
We stayed 1 night in a nice, big, beautiful and comfy room! The house is amazing and the food was delicious. Also they have a very efficient staff and the location is very good, it is in midtown. Nice restaurants walking distance.
I really enjoyed my night at the Amber House B & B. The bed was wonderful, staff very nice and welcoming, breakfast outstanding. I usually stay in a normal hotel when I visit Sacramento and have a quick breakfast at Peet's coffee but I really enjoyed the homey atmosphere and privacy of the Amber House.
