Amber House has two locations to hold ceremonies and receptions. The first location is in the parlor of our Craftsman-style main house built in 1905. The second location is in the garden area of our other house, a Dutch Colonial-style abode built in 1895 right across the street from our main house.
What if I want to bring my own food and drinks?
You are more than welcome to select the flat fee option and you can also choose your own caterer. If you choose the flat fee option, you will also be responsible for bringing cutlery and dinnerware, plus handle your own service. Most outside caterers include these items and service in their pricing.
We will provide your wine, champagne, soft drinks and coffee/tea, which you can choose from our beverage list. Due to restrictions with our liquor license, we cannot serve hard liquor or beer, but if you would like to bring and serve your own you are welcome to do so. Should you wish to bring your own wine and champagne, we charge a corkage fee of $15 per bottle.
Can you recommend a minister?
We work with several outside ministers and would be more than happy to recommend one to you. Please contact us if you should need more information.
Can I decorate Amber House for my wedding?
We allow decorations to be used at Amber House events. You are welcome to bring flowers and other decorations as long as they do not permanently change the structure or design of our Inn. Please feel free to inquire on your individual decoration ideas with our event coordinator. Amber House does not provide decorations or provide set up or clean up for decorations.
Can I use the Amber House parlor for the ceremony and the garden area for the reception?
Yes, you can. The cost will be the rental for the parlor and the garden.
What color of linens can we choose from for the tables in the garden area?
We have access to a wide variety of colors for tablecloths and napkins for an additional cost. Our price includes white tablecloths and napkins. Just let us know what color you have in mind and we will source it for you.
During which seasons of the year can we have a garden wedding?
Due to Sacramento weather, we typically close our garden area off by the end of September. After this time, the weather is unpredictable and our garden goes into "winter mode." We suggest any late fall and winter weddings take place in our main parlor. We open the garden typically in April.
How is your parking situation?
